Big Trucks
Did you know that a big truck can weigh more than 80,000 pounds and can go up to 75 feet in length? It’s no wonder that I’ve heard on the news about some serious truck accidents. Just last year the highway was closed when extremely high winds blew a semi over.
It’s estimated that there are over over 500,000 truck accidents each year on U.S. roads. Contrary to popular belief, most trucking accidents are not caused by the truck driver. In fact, more than 75% of truck accidents are caused by the errors of the drivers of the smaller vehicles involved in the crash.
Let’s bring this statistic down by driving slower and being courteous to everyone on the road, including large trucks!
