Buying Your Own Place
After people become more successful in their career or even after marriage or college, most people decide to buy their own place. Whether it’s a home or a condo, there is a deed involved, and enough paperwork to sign to cramp up anyone’s hand. With e-signing and e-recording, mortgages are reaching the stage where consumers can sign all the necessary paperwork from the comfort of their home.
Although a completely e-mortgage is not useable yet, at least the deed filing can be processed faster with the ease of technology. E-recording allows your mortgage lender to complete the deed filing with the land record’s office (aka county recorder’s office) through the internet. They can immediately get their item assigned a place in line and stamped upon arrival in the county’s computer.
In fact, e-Recording is even considered safer than the previous method of employing a runner to submit the documents to the county. So if you’re buying or selling a home, make sure your county has e-recording technology to complete the mortgage process faster than before.
