Okay, so I don’t really know the fastest growing industry in the U.S, though if you really want to know you can look up the Fortune 500 list. I do know that Swift transportation is the third fastest growing trucking company, according to the Fortune 500. And the whole trucking industry is growing because as the population grows, the need to deliver more products through trucks increases as well.
If you are considering starting a career in truck driving, now is the best time because the trucker salary is expected to increase by 40-60% over the next 3 years.
In fact, there is already a shortage of about 80,000 truckers in the U.S. So whatever type of trucker you want to be, you may be able to find several CDL driver jobs with a starting salary of $40-50,000 and benefits, along with other incentives. Not bad for a starting salary…maybe I should change careers.
