Weddings are just so expensive
In 2006, the average amount spent on a wedding photographer was close to $2500. And that was just the average! For some, I suppose that is couch change. But I think that for the average American, that can make a huge dent in a budget. I realize that for some the wedding day is the most important day of their lives, but if I were to pay that much, I would definitely do my research and find the best photographer. What a shame it would be to pay that kind of money and have mediocre wedding pictures. I’ll definitely keep this in mind when I need to plan my wedding. Here are some important things that need to be considered when trying to find a SLC wedding photographer, or one close to you:
1.      Ask around. Get referrals from people who have used t hem. What did they think? How did the pictures turn out? Were they completely satisfied with the photographer’s work?
2.      Look at their work, their portfolio. You will be able to see if their style matches want you want the finished product to be.
3.      Interview several different photographers. Don’t just go with the first one. Have a few in mind so that you can compare prices, styles, and availability. Also, if they know you have several in mind, they might just drop the price in order to get your business (wink, wink).
4.      Make sure they have backup equipment. The truth is that things can go wrong so quickly. It is important that the photographer comes prepared for the worst. Just imagine if the equipment broke or malfunctioned during your wedding.
5.      And finally, make sure they have the same vision for the finished product as you do. They are your memories; you should be able to have them the way you would like. In other words, don’t settle for a photographer that won’t deliver the best!
